QUANTITY

Focaccia is an Italian’s classic, commonly enjoyed on a regular basis. We have a recipe that does not require any kneading, nor a mixer, so easy to bake and fill your home with its mouthwatering aroma.

  1. In a large steel bowl, put in ingredients A.  Using your hand, make a cavity in the flour.
  2. Pour in ingredients B into the cavity.
  3. Using a large spoon, stir and mix the ingredients together until they form a sticky ball. 
  4. Leave the dough covered for 20 mins.
  5. Stretch & fold the dough 4-5 times using a wet hand. Then leave it to rest for 20 mins.

  7. The dough should be 2 times the original size after resting. 
  8. Sprinkle cheese on top of dough in toast tin.  Leave the dough to rise until double in size, about 60 mins.
  9. In the meanwhile, preheat your oven to 200 degrees C for 30 minutes.
  10. Upon the completion of the of rising, place the loaf in the pre-heated oven for 20 minutes of baking at 200 degrees C.  If you have a small oven that only goes to 180 degrees C, bake for 25 minutes.  If top burns before times up, cover the top of the dough with aluminium foil. 
  11. Cool bread on rack for 30 min & serve.
